Erklärung zu den angegebenen Clone-Informationen Explanation to given Clone infos
CPU Motorola 680x0, PowerPC 601, 603, 603e, 604, 604e, 604r, 750 (G3)
MHz Taktrate des Prozessors (MHz) Speed of CPU
Bus max Maximale Busgeschwindigkeit Maximum Bus speed.
Typen: OnBoard, Inline, Backside. Size of Level 2 cache, upgradeable in most Macs. Types: onboard, inline, backside.
L3 Bei Rechnern mit Backside-Cache (G3) wird allfällig vorhandenes OnBoard-Cache L3 genannt. In machines with backside cache (G3) the onboard cache (if installed) is called L3.

ASPD: Advanced Scalable Processor Design, the processor card may be excanged with one hosting a faster or newer PowerPC. Some machines based on Tsunami have a second processor card slot (DP).

603e/G3: Some clones have a PowerPC 603e on a processor card. This is also called ASPD, but you need special upgrade cards compared to normal ASPD. Also these machines are not compatible with the PowerPC 604(e) (ROM), thus you can only upgrade to a faster 603e or G3 processor.

ZIF: Starting with the PowerMacintosh G3 the processor is plugged in a Zero Insert Force socket known from the Intel world. This allows higher bus speeds than ASPD. Some companies develop ZIF cards with faster processors and faster backside cache.

Via L2-Slot: The Tanzania board has a non-upgradeable processor. But it also features a L2 slot which is almost a processor slot. It is possible to plug in a G3 card designed for this cache slot.

Number of RAM slots and maximum amout of RAM. Depending on the installed modules this value may change. Using 64MB modules in a PowerMac 8500 for example (8 slots) you get 512MB max, using 128MB modules you get 1024MB.
PCI Anzahl PCI Steckplätze (ältere Modelle besitzen NuBus und/oder PDS-Steckplätze) Number of PCI slots (some older models have NuBus and/or PDS slots)
Case Gehäusetyp:
Case style:
AIO = All In One, DT = Desktop, MT = Minitower, TW = Tower, PTB = Portable

CHRP / PPCP Common Hardware Reference Platform (bzw. PowerPC Platform)
This platform was initially planned to run multiple operating systems, including MacOS, Be OS, Windows NT, OS/2, Unix (AIX) and more. It should have supported not only the Mac proprietary hardware but also PS/2 keyboard and mouse connectors, a parallel printer port, VGA/SVGA monitor connection, E-IDE harddisk support a.s.o.
In summer 1997 Apple decided not to certify any CHRP system, but some cloners already had machines for selling. Motorola and Tatung left the Macintosh clone market.
